With Beast+ 26 having aired and been put up... and for the most part... watched....

I have to say that I feel let down by the final ep.... I read the end of the manga and liked that, but still hated to see it end. However, the turning of that basic idea into an anime ep (three or so...) seemed to fail. I really feel like when Frontier ended... (And that's how I bring this onto a Digimon RPG Board. >_>)

Most of us knew that they had intended about 56/57 eps for Frontier, but when they were in the 40's they felt Digimon was no longer holding interest and cut the number of eps down to 50/51... That cuts about 5 eps out of the original plot plan. Unfortunately, it was a little obvious when you saw the end of Frontier that they shoved a more detailed an elaborate ending plotline into as few eps as possible. It semi-ruined the whole series, yet not... It was still good, but still left you feeling cheated.

Same thing seemed to happen to Beast+... I mean... First the switch to sharing a time slot, but we had hoped that the cut of time would extend the amount of time the eps are on the air. 26 half-eps times two equals 52. So 52 eps would equal 26 full half-hour eps. 26 Beast, 26 Beast+ = 52 eps for the season = same amount as the other three seasons. Besides that, the plot in Beast + seemed non-existant. It was damn hard to find what the fuck was supposed to be gone on. When you look at things, you can almost finde three completely different plots in 26 half eps. x_O The "final" plot was only in about 4-5 eps... (equal to 2 half-hour eps and a little of the 3rd ep...) But many of us thought due to the apparent and semi-obvious lack of overall plot that it would take the full 52 half eps to give us the full 26 eps of the other half of a season.

It was a logical thing to think of... Unfortunately, it didn't work that way. Sad... really...

The villain; Cache; wasn't even introduced until the end of the series/season and it went way too fast. Netto and Rockman of course saved the world from total deletion, however at least you did have to ask how the hell this was gonna stop... But when you saw Netto and Rockman, you then figured you could tell exactly what was gonna happen and how this was gonna end. Though I will admit I didn't see it exactly the way it happened, it wasn't a shocking end.

Of course the final shot of the series is Netto's friends are running toward him; happily; and Meiru then glomps him. Her ass is very prominent in that last shot... And when the screen fades out, the last words of the series are:

"Arigatou... minna~!"






Upside is the new series of Rockman (the one you see in the ads I scanned?) starts in EXE's place......
