I'm literally just pasting my notes from my Google Doc as we watched the eps of Tri.

1st Ep (9)
-"Fine, you're right and she's evil. So then, what's her whole deal? Is she the reason the Zero Two kids are missing?"

-I like how Graham didn't understand the Yaoi Coupling back in the day, but now he's said, "Yamato, you so gay" like 5 times. XD

-"Wait, I just realized... Where the hell are Ken's parents? Like, last time, they were just worried about him bring missing. They didn't even answer the door this time?"


2nd Ep (10)
-"Let" Agumon do a Dark Evolution. Yes, that's a good description, Sora. >_>;

-Patamon, don't say Kyuubey-level shit with that tone of voice. >_>;

-Takeru, you of all people know what happens when you don't talk about shit. C'mon. How did you cover that Vampire Bite anyway?

-We ended Ep 1 on "Koushiro, you'll never get a girl that way! Hahaha."

...we then end Ep 2 with remembering Hikari and Aikoku have something in common. >_>;


3rd Ep (11)
-I love Agumon's priorities.

-*whispers* ...the Sea of Memories...

-OMG AGUMON.

-Tailmon has personal experience in Memory Fucks, yo.

-Is it bad that we wanna see some shady bullshit? >>;

-Graham: "You don't have a girlfriend, Jou!"
Me: "Yes he does, she's in the closet. >_> He has to inflate her first."
Graham: "IF HE PULLS OUT A DS, I'M FUCKING DONE."

-............dat Gomamon Face.

-GOMAMON WINS. XD Poor Jou, not even your Partner believes you.

-KOUSHIRO-HAN WILL BE THE DIGITAL WORLD'S FINAL HOPE. (Except with a giant bug instead of a dragon. > 3>)


4th Ep (12)
-STOP QUOTING DURIAN ARMS, GRAHAM.

-............so I was right about where the budget went. Hello, Angewomon. >_>

-I love the animation for chou shinka/Perfect Evolution, though.

5th Ep (13)

-I feel like this is a really really bad idea.

-Himekawa's "Grinch Face" aside, here, guys...
......why is it no one recognize Ken's D3? More importantly, why does no one question it!? X_X

Hey, goddammit, I knew it was important I just didn't get the whole callback right on. ; 3; It's been a while.

ALSO OMFG JOU YOU HAD BETTER NOT PULL OUT A COPY OF LOVE PLUS OR YOU WILL NOT BE GENDOU, YOU WILL BE BENJI.

....Takeru and Koushiro both got way better this movie though. Even if Takeru put on horrible hat at the end.

At this point, I'll only accept Tri if this reboot thing brings back Myotismon. It was all according to keikaku by Myotismon the whole time.

Psh. Jou WISHES he were Benji...with his "girlfriend" and his real life priorities. She probably lives in Canada and he only sees her during break.

And at least TK's hat isn't the ridiculous beanie he used to have. That thing was 1 part terrible colors and 2 parts Alaskan dog-sled racer.

Some quick late thoughts;

-Perfect evolution sequences are indeed quite nice

-lol of course animation budget was appropriated for Angewomon >_> I guess it was tasteful in that there was not a gratuitous ass shot in the initial camera sweep when she charged into battle

-Fucking Gennai pulling the long Aizen here >_>

In general, I'm enjoying Tri a lot. I think some of the issues that were raised in the last year primary had to do with things that were essentially considerations for the first movie or two (i.e. mostly only using Adult evolutions despite everyone having access to their Perfects; how it felt like the 02 chosen were written out etc) and other nostalgia/fanservice sorts of elements - in addition to simple pacing for being early in the story. We're only through three of the announced nine movies, so there's still a lot more to go.
