Summary
Kurosaki Ichigo is a 15 year old boy that has an ability to see ghosts/spirits. Because of his ability, he is able to meet a female Shinigami (or 'Soul Reaper') named Kuchiki Rukia. To save his family and friends from Hollows (soul-eating spirits), Rukia transfers her Shinigami powers to Ichigo. As Rukia takes on a human shell, together they solve mysteries involving spirits and Hollows until from the spirit world comes 2 other Shinigami explaining that it is illegal to transfer Shinigami powers to humans and Rukia exceeded the time limit to stay in the human world. After they sentence her death for breaking the laws, Ichigo snaps and swears to everyone he will retrieve Rukia by breaking into the spirit world.

Now... There's hella more than that, but... that's the basic beginning of the series and if you can't find it remotely interesting by the end of that arc, then... well... maybe it isn't for you. I didn't think I'd like it, but I promised a friend I'd watch Season One (she had the box set) and by the end, I wasn't insanely crazy over the series, but I did find it interesting... that and I'm the type who wants to know what happens and Bleach is known for 'Cliffhanger' episode endings. So... Be warned. But overall, it's a decent Anime. Very creative and you will find yourself yelling "KUUUUUUUBOOOOOOOO" or just snipping "DAMNIT Kubo!" farther into the series. >_> A lot.
