Spoilers of course. The team heads to the Digital World by Banchou Leomon's orders. It's pretty much the first sign of bad news...when the team gets their asses handed to them by turbulent skies and crashes onto a beach. This time around, they aren't anywhere near Mercurimon's domain. So who's the first Digimon they meet? Gotsumon. Genocidal as hell Gotsumon, only this time he isn't genocidal. In fact, Gotsumon has of course been reborn since he got vaped by the Perfects, and has no recollection of his past life. Now unlike other Digimon shows where the kids say "welcome back! friends friends!", the crew spend the first five to six minutes going like "we can't trust him >_>" Agumon and Raramon leading the charge on wanting to kick his ass again for good measure. Ikuto and Falcomon of course are the most shocked, and the first ones to back Agumon and Raramon in getting rid of the body. Masaru of all people is the one that convinces everyone to be nice to him...for now...especially after Gotsumon reveals to them that the reason they found him up to his ears in the beach sand is because ShineGreymon upon entry to the Digital World...landed on him. Good news! Gotsumon says that he'll take them to Yygdrasil! Fun! They go! And are met by Craniummon of the Royal Knights. (Voiced, ironically, by the same person that voiced Kouji in Digimon Frontier.) Who starts off by knocking them around with wind attacks. Apparently Craniummon's field in the Royal Knights is master of wind attacks. Masaru takes a hit just to activate his DigiSoul, and the team goes Ultimate (for extra funny, Gotsumon after seeing ShineGreymon's back remembers that it was him that crushed him into the sand. Masaru yells at him, and Gotsumon starts crying, apparnetly toucfhed that Masaru cares O_o;; ). Craniummon then takes a few minutes to show the team in as few moves as possible that they are officially out of their league. Masaru activates the Air Signal of his Digivice Burst to summon the Geo Grey Sword. Craniummon counters by summoning ClaÌomh Solais, his spear. Now the magazine scan of this fight put on an air of epic. It's not epic. It's short. Craniummon smacks ShineGreymon around, then disarms him. It's just more of a show of how fucked the heroes are. Craniummon goes in for the kill, but at the last moment, the spear is stopped by Masaru, utilizing the Burst Mode DigiSoul to keep him and ShineGreymon from being skewered. He then activates Burst Mode, catching Craniummon off guard and knocking him over. Victory isn't even a full minute long, as Dukemon teleports in and smacks ShineGreymon Burst Mode down. Note that Dukemon is STILL voiced by the same dude that did his voice in Tamers and X-Evolution, who just happens to be the vooice actor of Goku. This makes me utterly happy. *ahem* Then to make matters worse, more knights teleport in. Dynasmon, RhodoKnightmon, Magnamon, making his anime debut AlForce Veedramon, and finally, Omegamon, all identified by the now freaked out Gotsumon. Dukemon finished up the job with Royal Saber, knocking all of the Savers crew's Digimon out of the Ultimate level. The knights then make a path down the middle, and go to one knee to welcome their master, Yygdrasil. Masaru charges him to send a punch, knocking back his hood, but otherwise missing him. Either his aim is bad the dude is damn quick. It's Masaru's dad Suguru. Masaru gets up, and totally softens up, and tells his father they can go home to Sayuri and Chika. We even get a glimpse of Masaru's memories of his dad when he was little. Suguru says in so many words that he doesn't know what Masaru's talking about and states that the human world is gonna get vaped. Dukemon pipes in to say that this man is Yygdrasil. Suguru seems to have no recollection of him, and to really set this in, Masaru gets that emotionally traumatized expression on his face. You know, the one where your eyes look like they're gonna cry and your mouth is somewhere between toothy smile and expression of agony? That one. His mind is fragged, and to bring it on home, they show an image of Suguru from Masaru's memory, and have it shatter, using that as a scene transition to the real world, where at the Daimon household, the picture of the family has fallen to the floor, the frame looking fine except more a large crack and hole where Suguru's face is. Sayuri looks worried as hell. Well the crew is down, Masaru has lost the will to probably live by now, and to enhance the feeling of doom, Suguru orders the knights to vape them, and in compliance they arm themselves (unfortunately you don't see Omegamon arm himself..I wanted to see that...). Masaru is speechless, people are close to tears cuz they have no freakin' idea how they're gonna get out of this one....and then Sleipmon shows up. He lands, grabs the crew, and jets out of there. Magnamon fires at him with Plasma Shoot, and he barely dodges. Dukemon then fires Final Elysian, and looks to catch him...the episode ends. Shit. Well...THAT was depressing. Next Episode preview: SATSUMA LIVES! And apparently, his Kudamon is the Royal Knight Sleipmon...well now we see why he never went into active combat. Also, from the looks of it, rather than wait episodes later to face Sayuri with this revelation, the crew's already back in the real world ready to give the bad news. Seeya next week. |
