Centuries ago of the A.D. timeline, the Real and Digital World were separate. However, upon realization of each other, both worlds became suspicious of one another. This fear led to war between human and Digimon. This became known as the Destiny War.

The war lasted for years, and caused many casualties among both sides, yet the loss of life only fueled the war further. It seemed to have no end. However, one day, a human boy known as Kusanagi Netto met one of the Digimon soldiers, Dragimon. The two felt the war was meaningless, and together, set out to stop it using the only thing powerful enough, the core of all energy, EDEN.

It was a long and hard journey, but they finally found the core. They made a wish upon its power: That all those lost would be brought back, and for the battles to stop. EDEN took their wish a step further, doing as asked, and fusing the two worlds.

The fusing led to coexistence between the two races, and together, they built utopian societies. Soon Digimon and humans were even next door neighbors. Peace had been restored, and it seemed that it was meant to last forever...

However, peace can never be eternal...

Over 1000 years later, something was to disturb that peace. The ancient Purists of the war planted a failsafe in the event peace was found, or a race was lost. This 'failsafe' was CAIN, a program made specifically for one task: Find EDEN and use it to split the two worlds.

Upon realization of CAIN, the populace of the new Digital World decided to work together and destroy CAIN, while at the same time protecting EDEN, which changes location constantly. This brought out the Guard Teams, teams of Digimon and humans that fight against CAIN drones. Every region has a set of Guard Teams. To make sure everything was on the up and up, the Guard Council was created. These Guard Tamers have been around for only a few Generations now. Most of the Tamers and Digimon that are alive today don't remember a time without the Council and Guard Teams... But there wouldn't be one person or Digimon alive now who would ever remember when the worlds were separate...

Now, however, for this generation of Tamers and Digimon... the race is on:
Either CAIN is destroyed, or the great world that came from sorrow is ripped apart....
